Gabbi Garcia is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful actresses of her generation. Her chinita eyes and pretty smile will melt any man’s heart. Plus, have you seen her runway-ready body during the Bench Fashion show?
Contrary to the popular notion that celebrities always have it best, big stars in showbiz such as this young star are actually no stranger to insecurities.
On Monday, March 26, the “Sherlock Jr.” star shared her experience with body shaming and how she was able to get over it with the right mindset.
Apparently, even a young lady as gorgeous as Gabbi Garcia also receives criticism when it comes to her body. According to her, netizens often insult her for being flat-chested whenever she uploads a bikini photo.
“Whenever I post swimsuit photos, people would always bully me for my body. Well, guess what!! Yes, I have no boobs, I’m flat chested + I have my own fair share of stretch marks.”
Gabbi was able to embrace her imperfections and thus remains unfazed. She loves her body, deal with it.
“And I don’t see anything wrong with it. If your definition of being “sexy” doesn’t fit with my body type, well then sorry, but I LOVE MY BODY. And nobody deserves to be bullied just because of your body. We are all beautiful in our own way! #NoToBodyShaming#LoveYourBody”
Unfortunately, actors her age don’t often have the guts to start a dialogue about body shaming. Gabbi Garcia even drew the attention of one of her fellow celebrities, Iza Calzado, who wrote:
“Your body is nobody’s business but yours. Thank you for sharing this and encouraging your followers to love their bodies by being real and honest. You are beautiful, Gabbi. Period.”
Ever since she slimmed down from her then-hefty weight of 200 lbs., Iza has been an advocate of #TheBodyLoveRevolution, a campaign encouraging self-love.
It wasn’t JUST Iza who admired Gabbi for taking a stand against body shaming. Gabbi’s fellow Kapuso co-stars Kylie Padilla and Rocco Nacino, as well as her friend Leila Alcasid, took the time to show her some love in the comments section.
