Here’s a little recap: back in 2011, Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera were reported to have a feud during their project together, the comedy drama film “Temptation Island”. Apparently, there was even that one incident involving the former’s mom, Mrs. Cecile Ongpauco, who was said to have confronted the latter with bodyguards in an airport. Other reports claimed that it came to a point that the celebrity mom locked the former “My Korean Jagiya” actress in a comfort room.
While the two refused to shed light on their fight, the issue still made noise on social media following Heart’s cryptic tweets and Marian’s controversial answers during interviews. Fast forward to seven years, fans of the two remain clueless as to the root cause of their feud.
Thus, it would come as no surprise that netizens assumed that Heart was alluding to Marian in her recent statement about bullying. According to Janiz Navida’s “Showbiz Special” article in Bulgar two days ago, March 25, the actress was quoted as saying on Instagram Live:
“I’m not afraid anymore. I’m coming out ‘coz I’m not afraid anymore.”
It would appear that said statement was related to her women empowerment advocacy. For the first time ever, Heart would reportedly grace the cover of a magazine that habitually features men. She clarified, however, that she’s only motivating fellow women and not pertaining to anyone.
Asked by a netizen why she couldn’t move on from the issue, Heart said that she has already moved on, “but some things are too traumatizing to forget”.
Thankfully, Philippine Entertainment Portal was able to talk to Heart about this recent issue. In her statement, the Kapuso actress implied that she prefers to emphasize her experience with bullying, rather than talk about who bullied her.
“At the end of the day, it’s not about who did it to me. It’s about what I went through and how I’ve grown stronger from this traumatizing experience. I simply shared this for a bigger picture—a stand against bullying and harassment. I want to inspire others and let them know that they shouldn’t be afraid to speak up and not allow themselves to be victims.”
Meanwhile, the Kapuso Primetime Queen refused to give her comment.
