New breed of Kapuso artists that you should look out for this 2018

Every year, there are lots of new artists who sign contracts with the GMA Network. Just like any other celebrities in showbiz, this new generation of talent simply wants to make their own marks in the industry and hopefully be one of the shining stars of the network. Yesterday, GMA-Talent Development and Management Department (TDMD) announced eight new Kapuso artists that the public should definitely look forward to this 2018.

1. Devon Seron

After being a Kapamilya for 8 years, Devon finally inked with the Kapuso network last March 1. In an interview with GMA, the 24-year-old Cebuana revealed that her reason for transferring to the network is personally based on her decision and her desire of growing more as an artist.

“Actually, personal decision ko talaga siya. For me, I think makakatulong siya sa ‘kin sa pagiging malawak ko as an artist. And of course, sa tingin ko, it will help me to grow as an actress talaga,” she said.

2. Shaira Diaz

After being a TV5 artist, Shaira is now one of the newest talents for GMA. The 22-year-old actress finally signed her contract two weeks ago. Shaira was discovered by the network after she became part of the morning show “Trops” last year. In an interview, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the network.

“GMA is a good place to be, lalo na ‘pag pag-uusapan ‘yung gusto mong makaarte. At saka feeling ko madami silang maibibigay na role na hindi ko pa nagagawa before.”

3. Kyline Alcantara

Known for her role as the antagonist in the primetime series “Kambal Karibal,” Kyline has finally spread her wings as a Kapuso star after leaving the Kapamilya network. The said show is the first project of the 15-year-old actress for GMA after she signed a contract last year.

4. Joaquin Manansala

This 23-year-old heartthrob sets to conquer the showbiz industry after signing a contract as one of the newest Kapuso artists last September. Before entering the spotlight of showbiz, Joaquin has appeared on various TV commercials.

“Unang-una sa lahat sobrang saya ko nandito ako ngayon at eto na, kasi pangarap ko talaga ‘to. Tapos nag-sign ako last September last year. Wala akong masabi, sobrang pasasalamat ko sa GMA Kapuso, gagawin ko [ang] lahat matuwa [lang] sila sa akin,” he said during an interview.

5. Donita Nose

In an interview, the “Wowowin” co-host considers his contract with the GMA as an opportunity for him to showcase his talents in showbiz, it is because he admitted that it is rare for a member of the LGBT community to be given a contract.

6. Patricia Tumulak

From being a co-host of the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” Patricia is now one of the newest artists of the network. In an interview, Patricia admitted that she wants to venture into action dramas as well as, being a news anchor.

“Basta I’m up for challenges, anything na ibigay sa akin, as long as it’s for the better and makakabuti sa akin.”

7. Kelley Day

From being a member of the girl group “GirlTrend” of the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime” Kelly has finally signed a contract with GMA. She is part of the primetime series, “The One That Got Away” where she plays the role of Toni.

8. JBK

A boy band which is composed of Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario, and Kim Ordonio have finally inked their contracts with the Kapuso network. The trio joined “The X-Factor UK” where they managed to pass the six-chair challenge.
