The highly-anticipated and much-awaited movie starring news reporter Atom Araullo is now going to be released for public viewing. After rumors that the movie wasn’t going to see the light of day, fans of Atom and esteemed director Mike de Leon can now breathe a sigh of relief. The movie will be shown in UP Film Institute Media Center and the lead actor cannot wait for people to see their creation.
It goes without saying that the process of creating the film was arduous. This is why Atom is grateful that it can now be viewed by Filipinos. The journalist shares both pride and nervousness as this is going to be his first ever lead role in a movie and he isn’t even a trained actor!
According to an interview with PUSH, this is what Atom said,
“It took us almost two years to complete it and more than anything I’m really keen to share the story with Filipinos. I hope that a lot of people get to watch it.”
Asked about the whole working experience, the GMA news reporter shared:
“Ang hirap maging aktor, lalo na yung seryoso sa trabaho nila. At marami tayong magagaling na aktor. They make it look so easy and I found out the hard way that it takes a lot of effort to travel competently.”
“Na-trauma nga ako eh (laughs). Ibig sabihin somewhere along the way naisip ko, ‘Kaya ko ba talaga gawin ito?’ And there were doubts, not just from my end but also from the rest of the team if I could actually pull it off. But it’s up to the audience to decide if it’s a credible performance or not.”
But the reviews on “Citizen Jake” assured everyone who bought a ticket that they would not leave the cinema without being speechless.
